The “True Blood” seasons are filled with one villain after another. Some weren’t on screen long enough to get a serious point made, whereas others were on screen for TOO long.

Rene Lenier – Season 1
Rene was probably the best villain through all “True Blood” seasons. He was the only villain to really catch you by surprise. Sweet Rene turned into a killer.

Steve Newlin – Seasons 1-7
Steve Newlin is only a true villian in season 2 of “True Blood.” Steve comes into season 1 of the show claiming that vampires killed his father, and in season 2, he advocates the Fellowship of the Son “cult” that he created to train men and women how to kill vampires.  Steve’s goal was to eradicate the world of vampires using the Fellowship of the  Son members. But in the end, he turns into a vampire, and his views drastically change.

Maryann Forrester – Season 2

Maryann got old real quick. She was too over the top, but the mystery about maenads was probably the best part of Maryann.
true blood villains

Sophie Ann-Leclerq – Seasons 2 and 3

Sophie Ann was a great villain. She was a lavish queen after-all.
true blood villains

Sarah Newlin – Seasons 2, 6 and 7

In season 2 of “True Blood,” Sarah wasn’t so bad in season 2, but when she came back for season 6 of “True Blood,” she just got annoying. It was actually sad that she didn’t die at the end of season 6. When Sarah came back, she was back with a vengeance and her own plan in mind. Sarah Newlin was much more the villain than her husband, as she got worse as each season progressed.
true blood villains

Debbie Pelt – Seasons 3 and 4

You just had to feel bad for Debbie. She was addicted to V, but got clean and got her life back. Then Sookie has to come along and mess it all up for her. Drugs come back to play, but Sookie isn’t playing when Debbie comes out for blood.
true blood villains

Russell Edgington – Seasons 3 and 5

Russell Edgington was an interesting villain throughout seasons 3 and 5 of “True Blood.” His need for control and power is ultimately what destroys him.
true blood villains

Marnie Stonebrook – Season 4

Marnie is another annoying villain on “True Blood.” At first she was passive and kind of sweet, but her greed is what takes her down. After being possessed, it’s only a matter of time before she gets brought down. I mean a possessed Wican with few real powers shouldn’t mess with the dead, much less try to control them.
true blood villains

Queen Mab – Season 4

Queen Mab was a forgettable villain, but she makes the list because she had so much potential for a cool villain.
true blood villains

Roman – Season 5

Roman gets props for being Elliot on “Law and Order,” but he was hard to follow as a bad vampire.
true blood villains

Lilith – Seasons 5 and 6

There was so much build-up to Lilith, yet she was never the scary villain vampire that she could have been. What was  worse that her naked, bloody body roaming around serious scenes was more what her likeness caused others to do, especially Bill.
true blood villains

Ben (Macklyn Warlow) – Seasons 5 and 6
There was something off about Ben when he first showed up on the set of season 5 of “True Blood,” and it didn’t take too, too long to put Ben and Warlow together. It was almost sad when he was killed; all he wanted was Sookie’s love.
true blood villains

Billith – Season 6
Billith was a ridiculous vampire villain.
true blood villains

Mr. Gus Jr. – Season 7
Ok, Mr. Gus was another silly villain. It’s hard to take a cowboy, Asian executive seriously. But, it is interesting to see him take down Sarah Newlin for tainting his company’s True Blood supply.
