‘True Blood’ started on HBO during September 2008. The show received critical acclaim and won several awards, to include a Golden Globe and an Emmy. In June 2009, season 2 premiered with a 12-show series. As of August 2011, HBO signed True Blood for its 5th seaon to premier in the summer of 2012.

The HBO vampire series is based off the Southern Vampire Mysteries series writtend by Charlain Harris. Bon Temps is a fictional, small town in the state of Louisiana, where the base of the tale is told. The series is a mystery, romance tale of vampires, humans, and other supernatural creatures co-existing. Telepaths, shapeshifters, witches, fairies, and other creatures must figure out how to get along with the humans in a human-world.

The vampires “come out” first, followed by the shape shifters, who come out later in the series.

The acting isn’t the best, but you’ll find that with each show, you will become more addicted.

Anna Paquin plays Sookie; Stephen Moyer plays Bill Compton; and Alexander Skarsgård plays Eric Northman.
