The Dearg-due, which means “Red Blood Sucker,” is an ancient vampire dating back to the Celtic times.

The most famous story of the vampire creature is the story of a young woman who was supposedly buried in Waterford, which is a small churchyard near Strongbows Tree. Several times a year, she would rise from her grave and lure a man to his doom.

The Dearg-due could be prevented from rising from the grave by placing stones on the grave.
